Friday, 4/6, Conway and Little Rock, AR
After a very busy day that started much earlier than I normally like to crawl out of bed, a trip to my little girl's guitar lesson, she's playing great, and a little league baseball practice that lasted until 8:30 p.m. in temperatures approaching the low 40's, I finally made it home. #1 had prepared a nice dinner that included a marinated salmon and I stopped on the way home and picked up the 2005 Bogle Chardonnay and another bottle of chardonnay to accompany the meal. To be clear we only sampled the Bogle and the second bottle was for future tasting. We've had Bogle before and I can say that their wines are always very dependable. This one was no exception. A nose of oak, apples and maybe a little bit of mango was discovered upon uncorking with the flavor on the tongue of fresh fruit, oak and minerals, (in a good way). Nice, smooth finish as well. I gave this one 3 corkscrews because I ended up paying $10.99/bottle which I honestly feel is too much for this wine. It's a good bottle but not a great bottle and I could probably give it a higher rating if it was more in the $7-8 range. Remember I rate based on taste and value/affordability. Sit Long, Talk Much, Laugh Often, Drink Wine!
